Andy Corrie

Andy has over 34 years experience in the heating industry. Based in Scotland, he's held several roles within the industry, from Domestic Gas engineer to Commercial Gas Engineer followed by several years as a Learning and Development manager. His time at the Expert Academy is spent delivering courses on our Commercial and Domestic Boiler Range and our Commercial and Domestic Heat Pumps. The bit of the job Andy finds most satisfying is the practical side of training, he loves demonstrating practical skills to his training groups and helping them gain confidence by getting hands on with our products.

 

Andy Cummings

Andy has 34 years of experience within the heating industry, working for British Gas and Gas Flare before joining the Expert Academy. Based in Bristol, he manages he delivers a range of courses from our one-day Domestic Boiler product training to our weeklong F-Gas course. Andy is passionate about personal development. He especially loves to see the transformation in candidates throughout the week on our Heat Pump and F-Gas courses.

Andy Wheatley

Andy has worked in the heating industry for around 23 years, with the bulk of his career spent as a Technical Engineer at British Gas before moving into a position as a Technical Engineer for Ideal Heating. His time as an Ideal Engineer has given him an in-depth knowledge of our domestic boiler range which he loves passing on to groups of engineers during our product training courses. More recently Andy has developed a strong interest in renewables and loves delivering our Logic Air Product Training courses. Andy also runs our ACS training courses for our own engineers. 

 

John Boyle

John has over 32 years experience within the heating industry. From leaving the army John has worked in several areas of the industry from pipefitting, to plumbing and gas. John also has many years experience in the renewables sector, working as a Senior Engineer which involved heat pumps maintenance and repairs, followed by working as technical support manager for a Heat pump and cylinder manufacturer. As part of the Expert Academy John specialises in delivering our F-Gas courses but also enjoys delivering our domestic product training and heat pump courses. 

Jon Ward

With 19 years of experience in the heating industry, Jonathan has traversed varying roles from starting out as plumbing apprentice at Bell Air Conditioning before moving to British Gas where he furthered his career starting as a repair engineer, then success coach, followed by service manager. Based in Leeds, he specialises in running Logic & Vogue courses, Low Temp system Design, and Safe Isolation training. John loves meeting new people on his training courses, he especially loves witnessing that light bulb moment when a candidate grasps a concept during a training course. 

Mark Griffin

Mark has an extensive 25 years of experience within the heating industry, ranging from Plumbing and Heating engineer and supervisor for local companies in the Hull area. To working as a self-employed heating engineer. Mark has also worked as a Lecturer at Hull College where he loved guiding new engineers to the industry through their apprenticeships. His current role in the Expert Academy involves delivering courses in a range of areas from F-Gas to Heat Pumps, Low Temperature System design and our domestic product training. 

 

Nigel Kennedy

Nigel has worked in the heating industry for over 10 years covering several key roles with the bulk of his career spent working for Polypipe where he designed and installed underfloor heating systems. Nigel then moved into training within Polypipe, delivering training sessions to installers. As part of this role, he also offered site support to installers to diagnose electrical and hydronic issues. At the Expert Academy, he specialises in our heat pump and low temperature heating design courses. His favourite part of training is the sense of achievement you get from expanding somebody else’s knowledge and giving them the confidence with the products/system and seeing them leave with skills you know they will utilise.

Phil Mitcheson

Based in Hull, Phil has an impressive 28 years of experience within the heating Industry. He's worked in several roles, from Service and Repair engineer at Hull City Council, to Technical Engineer at British Gas and has also had many years working as self-employed Plumbing and Heating Engineer. Since joining the Expert Academy Phil has delivered a range of courses and currently specialises in running our Hamworthy Product Training courses alongside delivering everything from Heat Pump training to Domestic Product Courses and also delivers ACS training for our own engineers. 

Rob Hargreaves

Based in Leeds, Rob has an extensive 24 years of experience in the heating industry. As part of the Expert Academy, he specialises in our Commercial Product range, delivering courses such as our Evomax 2 product training session. Alongside his commercial training Rob loves delivering our Low Temperature System Design courses and our Heat Pump product training courses. His favourite part of training is that "aha" moment when he sees a candidate grasp a complex concept. 

Scott Riley

Scott is based in Kent and has worked in the plumbing and heating industry for over 18 years, starting as a technical repair engineer before moving into the renewables sector where he worked as a technical trainer for a heating manufacturer. As part of the Expert Academy Scott specialises in F-Gas and Heat Pumps. He also delivers our domestic product training courses and particularly enjoys the fault finds aspects of these courses.
