Andy Corrie

Meet Andy, who has an impressive 34 years of experience in the heating industry. Based in Scotland, Andy has held pivotal roles as a Domestic Engineer, Commercial Engineer, and Learning and Development Manager. Currently, he specialises in conducting courses on Commercial Boilers, Commercial Heat Pumps, Domestic Boilers, and Domestic Heat Pumps. Andy finds particular satisfaction in the practical aspects of training, relishing the hands-on interaction with clients. His extensive industry background and passion for imparting knowledge make him an invaluable asset to our team.

Andy Cummings

Andy has 34 years of experience within the heating industry, working for British Gas and Gas Flare before joining the Expert Academy. Based primarily in Bristol, he manages courses such as Logic & Vogue, Heat Pump Intro, Logic Air Product Training, BPEC Heat Pumps, F Gas, and CMDDA1. Passionate about personal development, especially for newcomers to the industry, he enjoys guiding participants through week-long journeys in his favourite courses, Heat Pump and F-Gas training. Alongside his busy role, in his spare time Andy enjoys running and keeping fit at the gym.

Andy Wheatley

Andy has worked in the heating industry for around 23 years, with the bulk of his career spent as a technical engineer at British Gas before moving into a position as a technical engineer for Ideal. Currently specialising in running courses like Staff ACS, Logic & Vogue, and Heat Pumps, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. His favourite course to lead is Logic and Vogue, showcasing a passion for imparting expertise in this area.

 

John Boyle

With 32 years in the heating industry, our expert John has navigated diverse roles from the British Army to companies like Global Marines and C&G Plumbing. Based in Hessle, he currently runs courses in domestic gas boiler training, F-Gas C&G 2079, BPEC Heat Pump Installer, and more. His passion lies in witnessing those light bulb moments, fostering collaboration, and contributing to learners’ continuous development, between a funny quote or two. As a parting note, he shares the wisdom, "A wise man plants trees knowing he will never get to sit in the shade."

Jon Ward

With 19 years of experience in the heating industry, Jonathan has traversed varying roles at Bell Air Conditioning as a plumbing apprentice, British Gas as a repair engineer, success coach, and service manager, and currently serves as Senior Training Manager at the Expert Academy. Based in Leeds, he specialises in running Logic & Vogue courses, Low Temp systems, and Safe Isolation training. The joy of meeting new people is a constant highlight for them, but their true passion lies in witnessing that light bulb moment when candidates grasp a concept during training. A truly rewarding experience that keeps them motivated in their role.

Mark Griffin

Introducing Mark, who has an extensive 25-years in the heating industry. He has held worked as a Plumbing and Heating engineer and supervisor at local Hull companies, been self-employed, and served as a Lecturer at Hull College. Presently based between Hessle and Leeds, he specialises in conducting courses focused on ASHPs, Logic, F-Gas, Water Regulations, and Unvented HW. His passion lies in meeting engineers and facilitating the switch to renewables through their training sessions. As an ex-military professional, they bring a disciplined approach to their work and, notably, have a keen sense of humour, always ready for a good laugh.

Phil Mitcheson

Meet Phil, our heating industry veteran with an impressive 28 years of experience. He’s worked at notable organisations like the Gas Company, British Gas, Places for People, Cooking and Heating, Flames of Hull, Hull City Council, and East Riding Council. Based in Hessle at Bridgehead, he currently specialises in courses covering heat pumps, Logic & Vogue, and Hamworthy. Passionate about sharing knowledge, his favourite part of training is passing on his expertise.

Rob Hargreaves

With a rich 24-year history in the heating industry, Rob has accumulated diverse experiences. Based in Leeds, He currently oversees a comprehensive array of courses, spanning all aspects of the courses we run. His true joy in training lies in those "aha" moments, where candidates grasp concepts, offering a genuine sense of job satisfaction. Among his favourites is the Low Temps course, where his passion for teaching truly shines.

 

Scott Riley

Meet Scott, our experienced professional with 18 years in the heating industry. Based in Kent, he's worked as a Technical Repair Engineer and later as a Technical Trainer for a manufacturer. Specializing in F-Gas and heat pump courses, Scott's training sessions cover a wide spectrum. His job satisfaction comes from witnessing the "light bulb moment" when trainees understand his teachings. He particularly enjoys leading fault-finding courses, reminiscent of his favourite part in his previous boiler repair career. Outside of work, Scott holds a black belt in judo and stays active at the gym.

Tom Batten

Meet Tom, our heating industry professional with 18 years of invaluable experience. Based in Castleford, Tom has traversed diverse roles from being self-employed to contributing his skills at Ideal and engaging in training initiatives. Currently specialising in Heat Pumps for Domestic use, Tom takes particular delight in leading courses on this subject. Beyond the realm of heating systems, Tom's interests extend to outdoor cooking, adding a flavourful and diverse dimension to his expertise. With a passion for training and a love for culinary adventures, Tom brings a well-rounded and dynamic presence to our team.
