This 2-day course for qualified heating engineers will give a technical understanding of central heating electrical circuits, components, and best practices to assist them to safely work and diagnose boiler & system electrical faults. The course is a blended mix of theory and practical.

The course includes the BPEC single phase safe isolation training and assessment which gives you the knowledge and process to complete safe electrical isolation to industry standards and guidance. The safe isolation aspect of the course is certified against BPEC requirements following successful completion of a knowledge test and practical assessment.

  • Test equipment.
  • Electrical principles and dangers.
  • Legislation.
  • Basic principles of single-phase installations.
  • Earth loop impedance and polarity tests.
  • Safe Isolation procedure for single phase installations.
  • Use of the Multimeter.
  • Testing components.
  • Preliminary electrical tests.
  • Live testing.
  • S, Y & S Plan Plus systems.
  • Practical session on fault finding.

 

Who should attend?

Gas safe registered heating engineers

 

Suggested prior knowledge or understanding.

Candidates should be able to use a multimeter and have knowledge of the heating industry.

 

What should I bring?

Candidates should provide 2 X passport photos and evidence of their National Insurance number for their application.
